Docuseries Empower Her

Dancing Through Gunshots in Brazil’s Favelas

The first installation for Redefine Twenty’s Docuseries is “Dancing through Gunshots in Brazil’s Favelas”.  The documentary is from @vice and is about young girls trying to learn ballet in Brazil’s favelas, however their classes are usually disrupted by gang violence. The documentary provides the perspective of the instructor that organizes and leads the classes and the children attending the classes. The documentary demonstrates how the girls are constantly in danger from walking to the make-shift studio, while also practicing. The young girls are an inspiration since they continue to be hopeful, even when their lives are constantly in danger, and want to achieve their dreams of becoming successful and professional ballet dancers. The link is listed below! Enjoy!✨
