Dear Black Boy

 

Former NFL player Martellus Bennett encourages young black boys to redefine their representation. Bennett discusses the lack of accurate representation of black youth in media and films stating, “There’s no one to champion creativity for Black youth as far as films and animation and there’s nothing wrong with focusing on it”. Bennett is the founder of an LA-based agency, which focuses on creating black focused apps, graphic novels and education. “Dear Black Boy” is a collections of stories based on the African-American male perspective, and is quest for freedom.
