Dr. Lillian Eva Quan Dyck is the first female First Nations senator and first Canadian born Chinese senator. She is a member of the Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan, and a first generation Chinese Canadian. Dr. Dyck advocates for equity in the education and employment of women for Chinese Canadians and Aboriginals. Dr. Dyck attended and received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Science Degrees in Biochemistry at the University of Saskatchewan. She then obtained her Ph.D. in Biological Psychiatry as well at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Dyck was a Full Professor in the Neuropsychiatry Research Unit, Department of Psychiatry and Associate Dean, College of Graduate Studies & Research at the University of Saskatchewan. In addition, to advocating for education and employment, she also discusses topics such as the multiple cases of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls throughout Canada.
